Berdine is an enigma of the art world. Using a wide range of mediums and techniques to achieve her unique style, she blends the abstract and realist mediums to bring us into a world that is both fantastic yet familiar. Spirituality guides her brush as she works. Using prayers from the Baha'i faith as both inspiration and material, her faith in God and Baha'u'llah are strong throughout her work.
Berdine started painting 10 years ago. She was always fascinated with abstract painting and most especially loves to work with light, vibrant, bold, brilliant, strong but nuanced colors. Colors give meaning to life, she says.
“My art is an expression of the inner self I've always had. In the past I had pushed aside my creativity to pursue ‘The art of making money’ because of need. Now I finally get to do what I've always wanted.
“A splash of red, a splash of blue, a splash of turquoise on canvas is like music to me. It flows and dances from my hand to the canvas."
